"Cooking for the Birds"

I recently completed a bird line art illustration project for Adventure Publications. These works will be displayed in a kids recipe book titled "Cooking for the Birds." It's a great way for children to create health, fun and appealing snacks for their fine feathered friends. I'll definitely be trying out some of these recipes!

Big Dot.

Thought it would be worth mentioning that I started a new job in December. The company I work for is called the Big Dot of Happiness and is conveniently based right here in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

Big Dot is an “Event Party Company" specializing in baby showers, bridal showers, wedding showers, bachelorette parties and birthday parties. They also create various games, invitations and themed party supply products. The owners are a husband and wife team that started their business from their own basement. The company grew since then and hasn’t stopped growing. Big Dot products have even shown up in the media, on shows such as Brothers and Sisters and have been seen in Peoples Magazine.

I’m currently working as a Designer in the print shop area of the company. I make sure custom invites are exactly the way the customer ordered. This includes working with type, color and controlling the printers and other gadgets in the print area.

Each day at Big Dot is never like the next. New and challenging tasks are always presenting themselves keeping me on my toes. This job is much different than my last position held in Sitka!

Colorado Activity Book!

Activity Book #3 has arrived and it‘s been a long time coming, believe me. I actually signed the contract to start this book before I left in May for Stika, Alaska. However the Publisher pushed back the printing date for reasons regarding direction and book layout for the project. Eight months later I received the manuscript for the Colorado Activity Book and was told the tight deadline. I’m very proud to say I completed this 64-paged fun filled book in two weeks from sketch to final while also working 10 hours per day at my day job. I’m convinced all the re-thing on the Publishers end really paid off and made this book flow really nice. The illustrations are a defiantly the best I’ve don’t for the company yet.









Andrew, Erik and I gathered to once again celebrate the compilation and publication of the Colorado Activity Book. The crayons were removed from the kitten drawer and put to use giving color to yellow-bellied marmots, picas, cowboys and much more.

MCAD Art Sale.

This years Art Sale at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design was a great success. Both Erik and I worked this event and sold almost everything we had for sale. Here are a few pictures from the opening. You can see more pictures and videos on MCAD's facebook page.

Santa's Traveling Workshop.

Erik Christenson, me and a handful of other artist took part in creating calendar illustrations for an organization called Santa's Traveling Workshop Foundation. The illustrations can be found on the on the organizations website. A new illustration will be revealed on the calendar every day until christmas.
