Loose Ends!

The night after I left for Sitka Erik and Andrew opened The Loose Ends Art Show at the Acoustic Cafe in Menomonie, WI. My work took part in this show and I displayed a variety of different illustrations and even a few photographs. Our work covered the walls of the cafe.

My 3-dimensional illustration "April Rain" also made the cover of Volume One Magazine this month. An article inside advertised the shows opening which took place May 9th. Events and festivities included free 'd oeuvres, live music by the band Josiah Wordsworth and of course tons of art! If you would like to see pics. from the shows opening check out Erik Christenson's art blog.

Leaving for Sitka, AK.

I love birds of prey and I found an amazing opportunity in Stika, AK to explore this passion. Through an internet search I found the Alaska Raptor Center was hiring for the summer season. The tile of the open position was Wildlife Interpreter and unlike many non-profit based organizations ARC would pay hourly. I couldn’t pass up this absolutely incredible opportunity to work and learn about my favorite animals in the world. Before I new it I was hired and on my way to Sika. This is a link to my May to October Sitka Summer.

Erik, Andrew and I got together tonight to color in my latest publication the Michigan Activity Book. We watched movies, ate popcorn and had a great time. Here are a few images from the event.

Let's Color!

The Michigan Activity Book I illustrated for Adventure Publications finally arrived in the mail today! 101 individual illustrations went into this baby. But why I wonder doesn’t the illustrator get cover credit? The last time I checked, the pictures where the most important part of the coloring process.

About the Illustrator.

This is what an illustration looks like before it is inked.

Here are two examples of final illustrations with text dropped in.
