Photos from Our Opening Reception

We had our opening reception for our show Two Lives in Art: Anna Kaiser & Erik Christenson last Friday at The Volume One Gallery. It was a lot of fun talking to new people about our work and seeing friends, family and coworkers who made it out to see our show. The show will be up until the end of February, so if you were unable to make it, stop on down!

2012 Christmas Ornaments

I sculpted these clay ornaments as gifts to my little niece and grandmother.        

My Pug n' Croc illustration made the Volume One's Ink and Paper add!  Both Erik and I have prints for sale in this show until December 31, 2012 at the Volume One Gallery in Downtown Eau Claire, WI.  

An Addison Weekend

This summer I spent a weekend with my amazingly talented niece Addison. Together we made some pretty fun paintings for her new room. Cats and color filled our canvases that are now on display in her room. Love ya kid!

Calkfest 2012

In August Erik & I participated in Eau Claire’s Calkfest!  This year we decided to create a dinosaur theme.  The weather was against the artists however because as the afternoon arrived so did the rain.  Many murals were completely washed away!  We were very fortunate to have nice sidewalk neighbors that shared their tarp with us.  Here are some images from the event.

Spring Bird Project.

This year I created a collection of Midwest songbirds that were on display for the month of May at the Menomonie Public Library. After taking down the show I decided the best place to photograph the pieces were in my backyard. The project idea came to me after I decided to build my own bird feeder. It just seemed right to create sculptures of my favorite backyard visitors to accompany the large feeder. These birds were carved out of baked Polymer Clay that were then colored with various types of inks. Found natural objects were also used in the final pieces and display.
