Roaring Lion

This is the first illustration in a series of images called Project Lion. My friend Alan is super nice and he's letting me try out his Wacom Tablet. Roaring Lion is my first attempt using the digital drawing device but I plan on creating many more Wacom images. I’m having a blast with this thing!

Recycle.

Everyone who knows me knows that I am a big recycler. It really does bug me when people simply choose not to recycle because they think it’s just too much extra work. This is our planet and our responsibility to take care of it right?

At work I’ve been trying to encourage people to take the small step and throw there unused paper products in the recycling instead of the garbage. I put some old envelope boxes to use and converted them into recycling receptacles for everyone’s worktables. Going green seems to be the trend these days so decide to paint all the boxes neon green so you can’t miss them. Guess what? Since the boxes have been put out my fellow coworker have been filling them instead of the trashcans. I bet all the paper Big Dot goes through we are saving one tree at least every day! That is something to be very proud of!

Chalkfest

Erik Christenson and I took part in the Chalkfest weekend event in Eau Claire, WI. This is a rather new occasion in Wilson Park where artist draw large scale calk images on the sidewalk. We teamed up to create an image based on our summer journey to South Dakota. We worked from 9:30 am until about 5:00 pm when the images began to be reviewed by the judges. It was quite a fun day though our legs and knees had a rough time. We even got an honorable mention in the group category.
