This years Art Sale at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design was a great success. Both Erik and I worked this event and sold almost everything we had for sale. Here are a few pictures from the opening. You can see more pictures and videos on MCAD's facebook page.

Alaska Raptor Center Works.

While working at the Alaska Raptor Center this summer in Sitka, AK I had the opportunity to create a few projects to benefit the center. The first of the two was a staff and volunteer summer BBQ poster. The second was the centers annual solstice fundraiser event booklets and invites. This was a pretty big deal to me as hundreds of people received these invites with my illustrations, designs and contact info on them.

I have bangs!

This Halloween Erik and I decide to go as Velma and Shaggie from the 1969 Sooby-Doo Where are you cartoon series. We went all out, Erik grew out his beard and I got a Velma hair cut along with searching out matching character clothing. We spent the night at our close friends house in the Twin Cities talking around the fire pit, watching old monster movies and giving candy to the eager trick or treaters. The highlight of the night is when Scooby-Doo himself made an appearance. Jinkies, what a treat!

Vista Fleet Activity Book.

This is #2 of the Adventure Publications Activity Books I've had the wonderful opportunity of illustrating. Vista Fleet now joins the Michigan Activity Book at the coloring book night parties.

Squirrel Frame

Since I'm updating my blog and all today I decided to post an older work that I made for Erik on Valentines day this year. You would think that the carving of the tree would have been the hardest part of this gift but you'd be wrong. It took forever to sculpt those two little squirrels sitting on the frame. Each one could sit comfortably on a penny and took allot of patience to sculpt. I broke off their little legs and arms multiple times! I really do love how this whole project turned out.

Loose Ends!

The night after I left for Sitka Erik and Andrew opened The Loose Ends Art Show at the Acoustic Cafe in Menomonie, WI. My work took part in this show and I displayed a variety of different illustrations and even a few photographs. Our work covered the walls of the cafe.

My 3-dimensional illustration "April Rain" also made the cover of Volume One Magazine this month. An article inside advertised the shows opening which took place May 9th. Events and festivities included free 'd oeuvres, live music by the band Josiah Wordsworth and of course tons of art! If you would like to see pics. from the shows opening check out Erik Christenson's art blog.
